Manual zz. The thesis includes partly a guide for production of erection drawings according to company directives and partly an update of the existing drawing layout for erection drawings in the BIM-software Tekla Structures.

The guide for erection drawings will be complementary to an already existing guide for workshop drawings made by the company.

It is intended to standardize the appearance and contents of drawings produced on behalf of Ruukki. The guide is to give guiding principles both in the company, for subcontracted offices and is also to work as learning material for new employees. The daily work of the structural designer revolves around modelling and drawing production in Tekla Structures.

The guide is based on valid standards that have been compared to drawings produced earlier by the company. The guide contains example drawings that have been created in Tekla Structures. Figur 3. The purpose of this guide is to standardize drawings made for Ruukki Construction and it also applies to subcontracted design offices.

This guide contains information and instructions needed in the production of erection drawings such as floor plans, drawing sections and also detail drawings. The instructions are given according to international and country-specific standards applying to Finland, Sweden and Norway which are referred to in the text. The drawing is always folded into A4 sized papers, therefore if possible, that should be taken into consideration while a drawing is designed.

The height of the title block may vary between projects depending on the amount of information included and the size of the company logo. Title block in erection drawings. If the total width of the selected paper size is needed for the drawing space, it is also possible to place the space for text along the bottom edge of the drawing. In this case the height of the text space is set by the amount of information needed. The space for text is to provide all information needed when reading the drawing. The title block and a revision table must always be included.

In erection drawings the revision table is placed above the title block having the same width as the space for text. The revision table is completed from the bottom up with the most recent revision at the top. In detail drawings the revision table is placed directly under the title block with the same width i.

Explanations may be done with both figures and text, for instance in support plans, the positioning of supports is explained by figures with complementary texts figure 9.
