Campbell Rolian. Professor in the Anthropology department at University of Calgary. I'm Professor Rolian Submit a Correction. Check out Similar Professors in the Anthropology Department 4. Jan 10th, Textbook: Yes. Excellent professor. He does have a large amount of information during his classes but it balances out with his passion for the subject. Flag this rating. May 9th, Textbook: No. Rolian is the best professor I've had all semester. He has very easy to understand and concise slides that you can literally cram in the night before and get at least a B.
His tests are extremely fair, and can be completed within half an hour. During the final exam, the majority of the class left after half an hour. Get him as a prof if you can!!!! Apr 28th, Great prof, but words tests funny!
He just needs some experience! Would take another class with him! Apr 26th, He is just starting out and is going to be a very very strong proff in the future.
He asked for our opinions about how to make the lectures better and he implemented those ideas the very next day. Apr 2nd, Fantastic class. Brilliant guy. Has got a sense of humour, as well. I would suggest taking his classes if you wish to actually learn. Mar 17th, He's an awesome prof, really nice. There is a lot of material to go through just like with any other level but he gives you an outline of what you should know for the exam, and actually sticks to it.
What else do you want? He's also open to feedback which is great. Of course, if you expect no memorization, a class in primatology isn't for you. Mar 16th, He's a great prof in that he wants you to learn, and is extremely approachable. The load was a little heavy for an intro class, but he was awesome enough to ask for our input coming into the 3rd unit and adjusted accordingly.
He wants to make the class enjoyable, and that makes him a really good prof. Mar 14th, Goes through 50 slides per class, extremely detailed, and fast paced. It is unrealistic to memorize everything for the exams I would not recommend at all.
Mar 10th, Nice guy, friendly an all but very demanding. Tests are quite tough too, definitely a sink or swim class. Reviewed: Mar 10th, This rating has been reviewed and cleared. Mar 5th, Not a very good prof. Completely unrealistic when it comes to how much info you can retain for an exam. Loves including math, even though anthro isn't math. Puts as much content as possible into each 50 minute class, leaving you feeling totally overwhelmed every day. Definitely don't recommend him, unless you enjoy punishment.
Reviewed: Mar 5th, This rating has been reviewed and cleared. Feb 3rd, Lectures pretty interesting and goes into detail when explaining the material. However, his tests are very tricky! Lots of "all of the above", "none of the above", or "both a and b". Feb 2nd, Holy wow he goes through slides so fast its impossible to take good notes so you will need to read your textbook or online. I think he assumes everyone in the class have taken Bio classes before so he just breezes through stuff that you may have never seen before.
