The data were collected in two stages. In the first stage, quantitative, non-participant observation of nursing professionals during the preparation and administration of vasoactive drugs was performed. There were 77 observations, according to a statistically significant sample for the study scenario, which occurred from March to August The data from this stage were analyzed through simple statistics, with absolute and relative frequency and average calculations. The second step qualitative was made through literature review and conversation circles with the nursing team. In the literature review, the manuals, guides and protocols of government entities, scientific societies and professional councils were reviewed, addressing the topic of patient safety and the collection was stopped through data saturation.
